It is my interest in education and training that persuaded me to include this chapter in the book. The internet did not exist when I started my career and thus my generation did not have the luxury of limitless information at the click of a button –Google was not a term in our vocabulary. Books, magazines and industry experts were our only source of the ‘latest’ knowledge and we made the most of every chance to learn that came our way. Knowledge about the creative arts and more specifically our subject, was and continues to be very important. I was fortunate to have seniors who believed in sharing knowledge and encouraging fresh talent. I am certain that these initial influences set the foundation for my interest in teaching and sharing whatever little I know.
